Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust selects new Staff Bank Management System from SMART - 15/04/2008

SMART, the workforce management software provider has been selected to provide Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust with its new staff bank management system to enable improved deployment and administration of the Trusts 1,275 plus nursing and administrative bank staff.

Mark Ingram, Temporary Staffing Manager at the Trust said, "As a foundation for the future the Trust has committed to put in place the right organisation and structure to deliver a high quality service for the provision of a flexible temporary workforce. To satisfy the critical success factors of operational, financial, reporting and security requirements for the provision of temporary staff, we have chosen the SMART system to help us achieve our goals and reduce any unnecessary use of agency staff, therefore minimising our costs in this area. One of the added benefits of the SMART system is that it can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, which will enable our bank staff and managers to register their work requirements at their convenience".

The brand new staff bank management system was chosen over six other competitor systems in the market to replace a previously manual system. Using a combination of data held in the ESR HR & Payroll System and the SMART Bank Management Solution the Trust will have full visibility of available bank staff, be able to view staff training and skill profiles, conform to security and legislative requirements and easily record bank working hours.
