SMART, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust has signed a contract with a view to implementing the SMART eHL workforce management solution trust-wide to remove manual timesheets, improve payroll accuracy and rostering.
The 3500-employee trust is the first NHS trust to make the commitment for a complete time & attendance and electronic rostering solution across all staff groups. The web-based system will be used with biometric hand readers to ensure accurate recording of working hours.
Tristan Spencer, Director Health Market at SMART is delighted with their decision to go trust-wide and says, "This is a huge leap forward for NHS trusts and shows commitment to accuracy, fairness and transparency regarding NHS working hours. In our experience when talking to nurses who use our system, they say they love it because it is fair and we feel this is a strong case for use across the wider NHS community".
