Dr Simon Willcock joins SMART Board of Directors
SMART, a leading provider of solutions for workforce management in healthcare, has announced the appointment of Dr. Simon Willcock as Professional Services Director, responsible for Professional Services within the Health Division of SMART. Dr. Willcock joins the management board at SMART, having been the NHS Programme Director for the £750m Electronic Staff Record (ESR) project to deliver an integrated HR and payroll solution to the whole of the NHS in England and Wales. The project involved 568 organisations in total and is the largest implementation of its type in the world.
Prior to joining the NHS project in 2001, Dr. Willcock held an International post at Reuters plc where he was responsible for the delivery of a new financial data and database infrastructure for its global information products. He started his early career at Thorn EMI plc in the technology division and Central Research Laboratories, having gained a PhD from Durham University and BSc from Imperial College, London.
Dr. Willcock said; "I am delighted to be joining SMART at this key time for the NHS in a role that will allow me to use my experience of delivering successful implementations within the NHS.
